If the aircraft approaches unusual attitudes or nears unsafe flight conditions the ESP will engage Level Mode, Under Speed Protection, Over Speed Protection, or Bank Protection which provides notifications to the pilot or even momentarily takes control of the aircraft to prevent stalls and overstressing the airframe.
