Meet Michael McLeavy, the Gulfstream Team Lead at Western Aircraft, whose expertise and dedication have made him an invaluable member of the team for over two decades. His background as an F-16 crew chief in the 120th Fighter Wing Montana ANG from 1989 to 1997 and his love for aviation makes Mike exactly the right person for his role with Western.

Let's begin at the beginning, shall we?

He went to school at Montana State University, Bozeman and University of Montana, Missoula while serving in the Montana ANG, after which Mike's passion for aviation led him to pursue an A&P license in Helena, accompanied by an applied science degree in 2000. His journey at Western Aircraft began in June of the same year, marking the beginning of a remarkable career.

With an impressive tenure of 23 years at Western Aircraft, Mike has become an integral part of the team's success. He served as the Falcon Team Lead for more than a decade. It was no surprise then, that when Western Aircraft leadership embarked on pursuing the Gulfstream airframe four years ago, Mike was awarded the opportunity of becoming the Gulfstream Team Lead.

Mike's expertise extends to various Gulfstream aircraft models, including the Gulfstream IV, 450, V, 550, and will soon be proficient in the G650 as well. His innate understanding of these aircraft has allowed him to provide exceptional service and support to Western Aircraft's customers.

“It’s awesome here!” Mike said. He finds excitement in the vibrant community of Boise and its surroundings. The area's diverse population and the plethora of outdoor activities it offers have made it an ideal place to call home. Mike indulges in his love for fishing by exploring the scenic waters of Idaho, Montana, Washington, and Oregon. Additionally, he enjoys the thrill of riding motorcycles and four-wheelers, as well as camping and boating.
