An increasing number of flights into the Boise Airport (KBOI) along with an increased amount of fuel pumped has prompted Western Aircraft to add a seventh fuel truck to its fleet.

The Maintenance Repair and Fixed Based Operation is based at the Airport and provides fuel support for general and corporate aviation and airlines.

“We are currently the largest supplier of fuel for the Boise Airport delivering more than 21 million gallons of fuel per year,” said Western Aircraft’s Line Service Manager Dan Milender. “Our new 7,000-gallon truck is our third with a lift deck, which gives us even more reliable, safe service to large aircraft.”

In addition to its corporate and airline support, Western Aircraft also holds the Department of Defense (DoD) contract for the field through its partnership with AvFuel. Furthermore, in the summer it provides fuel support for aerial firefighting aircraft.

Western Aircraft, a Greenwich AeroGroup company, announced today that it has hired one new person and promoted two others as part of its ongoing investment in avionics and turboprop support.

Don West has been promoted from Avionics Lead to Avionics Sales Account Manager supporting Western’s MRO Sales and Marketing team. A native of Delaware, Mr. West joined Western Aircraft in 2000 as an Avionics Technician. He was subsequently promoted several times, culminating in his most recent role as Avionics Lead. He also currently serves in the Idaho Air National Guard as an Integrated Avionics Comm/Nav Mission Systems Craftsman. Mr. West has an Associate of Applied Science degree in Avionics Technology from the Community College of the Air Force and holds a Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Avionics Repairman certificate.

Paul Harrington joins Western Aircraft serving as an Avionics Team Lead. Mr. Harrington has spent the last 20 years with Jet Aviation in St. Louis, most recently serving as its Challenger Team Avionics Lead, and prior to that Paul served as an aircraft electrician in the United States Army. He holds a Federal Communications Commission (FCC) General Radiotelephone Operator License.

Jeff Watson has been promoted to Turbo Prop Service Manager. He is a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving for four years as an F-18 aircraft hydraulic mechanic. Mr. Watson is a licensed Airframe & Powerplant mechanic and a graduate of Idaho State University who has served in various roles within Western Aircraft’s maintenance department for more than 11 years, most recently as the company’s Jet Team Lead.
